Structured Commodities is owned and managed by Allan J. Lee, who has over 43 years of experience in the commodity finance and derivative markets. Further, Structured Commodities maintains relations with professionals with expertise in risk management, futures, accounting, treasury and collateral management and can assemble a team to assist its clients in achieving their objectives.
Lee began his career in 1980, at the Chase Manhattan Bank where he managed a team of corporate bankers financing energy and metal trading firms. Subsequently, he joined Drexel Burnham Lambert as the Commodity Division's Risk & Funding Manager. In addition, he managed Drexel Trade Finance, a specialized commodity finance and arbitrage company. After Drexel, Lee joined ING Bank as Risk Manager for North America. He also established and managed the Structured Products & Derivatives Department for ING. Following ING, Lee managed the energy and natural resources groups for MeesPierson NV (predecessor of ABN Amro NV) and Standard Chartered Bank, both world-class European banks. Lee also was CEO of Standard Chartered Trade Services Corp., a specialized finance company.
Lee founded and was President and CEO of FCStone Merchant Services, a commodity arbitrage and finance firm. In addition, Lee has managed two industrial companies as Managing Director for Nitrogen Products Inc., a fertilizer manufacturer, and as President & CEO for Green Diesel LLC, a biodiesel producer.
Lee holds a BS Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Columbia University.
